Viaduct Park -

“Park and recreation offerings are not merely a “nice-to-have” luxury government service. Instead, parks and recreation transform our cities, towns and counties into vibrant and prosperous communities for all.”

       - National Parks and Recreation Association, 2022 Economic Impact of Local Parks

The idea of a key park on the eastside of downtown Faribault started back in 2015 when the official 2040 Vision was approved by the city council.  But long before then, citizens and community leaders envisioned an area of the riverside as a beautiful public space for residents to gather and connect.      This dream is now becoming a reality.

Faribault has an outstanding park system, with trails and fields and courts and many play structures for children and families to enjoy.  Our newest park will feature fresh and new amenities to our current system and will be a crown jewel for Faribault recreation.

This city park, officially named Viaduct Park, will also be an excellent opportunity for organizations, businesses, families, and individuals to be recognized as a Faribault Community Philanthropist! Recognition of significant donations will be accomplished through the naming of identified facilities and major amenities being constructed in Viaduct Park. Naming will be at the discretion of the donor.

The Faribault Foundation is working with the City of Faribault to offer these unique opportunities for donor recognition as part of this important community project. Donations and sponsorships provide an excellent opportunity for businesses and organizations to demonstrate their community support and promote their brand.

Viaduct Park, which is slated to begin construction later this summer, and will boast a water feature, multipurpose building, green space, and many decorative touches. This park will become a beloved destination for community members and visitors alike. The recreational opportunities and public use (outside of reserved, exclusive use for private events) will be free of charge for participation. This, paired with its ideal connection to the City’s extensive trail system, will result in a fully accessible regional park.

Would you like to have your family name or business name prominently featured in Viaduct Park? You can be recognized in a variety of ways, simply by contributing. Donors can spread their gift over several years to maximize the impact.

Contact the Faribault Foundation to learn more about these opportunities. We are eager for the groundbreaking and to announce the early donors to this project. This could include you!
