Foundation Welcomes Youth on Board!

Sarah Engbrecht, a senior at Faribault Public Schools, joined the Foundation board through a project of FYI (Faribault Youth Initiatives) called Youth on Boards.

In this program high school students review available choices of local boards and become board members.

This offers the organization a wonderful opportunity to have a someone serve on their board who brings a youthful perspective to the work.

At the same time, Sarah will see community volunteers in action and participate fully in the discussions and decision of the board.

Sarah said her hope is to "Make the Foundation more well known as a community resource."

She is involved in many school activities including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Faribault Youth Bank and the Black Student Union. Her favorite quote comes from Camilla Eyring-Kimball who said. "You do not find the happy life, you make it."
