25th Anniversary Messages

The Faribault Foundation recently celebrated 25 years of serving the community. For the first 20 years the organization took on a few big projects and served as fiscal agent for several local groups. The Foundation gave grants as a pass through, raising money and giving it away.

We reached out to former directors who worked part time to keep the work of the Faribault Foundation going.

Dee Bjork

Dee Bjork responded and said, "The Faribault Foundation ensures the well-being of tomorrow for all its people. Congratulations on serving the community for 25 years."

We also heard from James Wolf who shared this message: "

"Around 1980, I was living in Detroit and working for the Henry Ford Hospital. During this time I found that I had a real interest in community development. Fast forward to 1995 when our family landed in Faribault, a perfect setting for continuing my interest in community development. While working as the CEO of District One Hospital I was able to do community development work through the Chamber of Commerce and The Faribault Rotary Club.

While in retirement, the opportunity to be the lead executive of the Faribault Foundation presented itself. It was interesting work, but my time in the role was cut short as we began to develop our retirement plans, which resulted in departing Faribault and moving to Bloomington, Indiana.

I appreciate the opportunity to have been a short term player in the development of the Faribault Foundation.   Congratulations on the significant work you have done!"

Now in our 25th year, we can proudly say that the transformation to a true Community Foundation is complete. Our donor centric approach allows us to help local donors meet their own goals of philanthropy.
